Determinants of COVID-19 vaccine acceptance amongst doctors practising in Cross River State, Nigeria

Background: COVID-19 vaccine is one of the most effective public health intervention approaches for prevention COVID-19. Despite its well-known efficacy and safety, significant proportion frontline healthcare workers remain hesitant about accepting whatever reasons. This study aimed to determine acceptance rate determinants refusal among doctors in Cross River State, Nigeria.
 Methodology: was a cross-sectional survey using structured online questionnaire administered via WhatsApp platform medical doctors’ association, order assess their vaccines, reasons refusal. The predictors were analysed by univariate multivariate logistic regression analyses.
 Results: Of 443 targeted on platform, 164 responded survey, giving response 37.0% (164/443). mean age respondents 38 ±6.28 years, 91 (55.5%) are years old above, 97 (59.1%) males 67 (40.9%) females, male-to-female ratio 1.4:1. greater physicians (70/148, 47.3%) three-quarter participants (127/164, 77.4%) had received vaccine. who (57/70, 81.4%) more than general practitioners (31/42, 73.8%) surgeons (24/35, 68.6%). Low perceived benefit vaccination main reason given (45.9%, 17/37). No association found between suspected (p>0.05).
 Conclusion: Our revealed high especially physicians, with showing lowest rate. A would not take because they it lacks much benefits. To raise doctors, efforts literacy that target from all sub-specialties incorporate benefits should be made.
